Blue Quilt Cup takes the form of a cup-shaped piece of glass, screen printed and painted with vitreous enamel and acid etched. The design features a detail from a traditional Welsh whole cloth quilt, suspended from a well used wooden spoon, evoking shared conversation. The work investigates domesticity, manners and display, and illuminates the fine craftspersonship of (mostly anonymous) women from my community.
