Bards ‘n’ Shards

Siloh, found china, ceramic decals, cupboard 2021. This work was inspired by a poem by Ann Morris

Bards ‘n’ Shards is a collaboration between myself and poet, Emma Baines and arises out of my interest in the unsung archaeology of pottery shards found in the landscape in Pembrokeshire and County Wexford. The project is supported by Ancient Connections and Narberth Museum.

Emma and I ran a workshop at Narberth Museum and have since run a series of workshops online to support and inspire writers in Pembrokeshire and Ireland to come together and write poems based on a shard they have found in their locality. Both sets of workshops were attended by established writers as well as people with little or no experience of writing poetry.

I made a body of work which is currently on show at Narberth Museum that is inspired by the writing which came out of the museum workshops and am currently developing new work based on the online workshops.
