Inspired by archaeology and the geology of the coastal landscape of Wales, which is shaped by the sea and bares traces of man since prehistoric times, for these works I began by making drawings and studies of pebbles on the foreshore, that place which is between sea and land, nature and cultivation.
From these studies I developed a series of carvings made on sea-smoothed rocks. Later I took these carved rocks to Devereux Huskie Glassworks and worked with James and Katie to create a series of glass “boulders”.
