I am one of four artists commissioned in 2021 by The Contemporary Art Society for Wales, to make a piece of work in response to the collection at Narberth Museum, Pembrokeshire. The other artists are: Riitta Sinkkonen Davies (weaver), Sian Lester (textile designer) and Jobina Tinnemans (sound artist).
Inspired by the emotional life of objects, and the power they have to link us to other lives, I have made a glass cast of the wooden ladle used to feed the poor in Narberth Workhouse.
This piece, entitled ‘Gruel’, is on show in the museum, alongside the other commissioned work as part of the permanent collection.
