Statement
“I am drawn by the material and metaphoric possibilities glass holds. Glass is a shape shifter, as a material it holds contradiction, it is both strong and fragile, opaque and transparent, liquid and solid, it transmits and reflects light and is ancient and modern. It is inherently organic and elemental, it can be a barrier and can also facilitate proximity. I am interested in the potential glass has to manipulate light in order to articulate and illuminate feeling and connection in a world where there are already too many objects and contributing to the culture of consumerism feels problematic.”
